David McAmis is a Senior Solution Architect at Databricks, based in Melbourne, Australia. With over 20 years of experience across business intelligence, analytics, and cloud data engineering, he works with organisations to design and implement modern data platforms built on lakehouse architecture.
Throughout his career, David has held roles spanning consulting, technical training, solution architecture, and engineering leadership. He has worked with organisations of all sizes to unlock the value in their data, from early business intelligence deployments through to today's cloud-native, AI-driven data platforms.
A recognised expert in data and analytics, David is a frequent conference speaker who has presented at user groups, trade shows, and seminars across Australia and internationally. He writes regularly on data engineering, lakehouse architecture, and emerging technologies in the modern data stack.
David has authored over a dozen books and hundreds of articles for computer magazines and trade journals. His titles include "Crystal Reports XI for Developers" (Charles River Media), two editions of "Professional Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET" (Wrox), "Crystal Reports: A Beginner's Guide" (Osborne McGraw-Hill), and "Mastering SAP Crystal Reports 2011 + SAP Crystal Server 2011" (Kuiper Publishing).
